With the transition from the linear economic model to the circular economy and the factor of sustainability being put into consideration and much scrutiny in any organization and country, we watch the globe move from the “Take-Make-Use-Dispose” concept and move into a circular fashion where the life span of the product is extended. Using the Accenture model which includes elements such as “Servtization”, “Sharing platforms”, Circular Supply Chains”, “Recycling and Recovery” and “Product Life Extension” to provide a deeper understanding as to the steps needed when a country or an organization makes this transition.

Approaching five different cities within two different countries, with a sample size of 285, we tested for their “Awareness”, “Buy-in” and “Practice” of the circular economic concepts such as sharing platforms and E-waste recycling. The results proved certain correlations between citizens in developed cities and the contributing factors to the type of electronic gadgets that they purchase. Furthermore, Ethnicity contributes to the comfort level between individuals in relation to sharing platforms. In conclusion, the correlations prove that there is a link between the awareness and the buy-in rate.

Governments in those cities would have to further intensify their efforts in promoting the adoption of waste management strategies to expedite the transition to the circular economy. DreamGreen, with the slogan of Planet, People, Profit, aims to provide solutions to aid in the formation of greener cities to better the lives and promote sustainability. We believe sustainability lead to profitability, which enhances the economic growth and status of a country.
