Zhang Yuci, Lee Si Min, Ong Jia Min, Bao Mingzhe, Avni Lodha

Our project is designed to be a business model evaluation, which aims for market expansion for GF Company in seafood exporting scope. Particularly, Yangon is set as primary target market; meanwhile consider both accessibility and viability of the plan, a seafood processing plant (PT.TOBA SURIMI INDUSTRIES) which based in Indonesia will be selected as a fundamental spot in business expansion.

In abiding with the relevant rules and regulations, joint venture is the only option that permits a foreign own enterprise control over a local company, and the foreign company only can invest maximum 40% of the capital of the seafood processing plant. Furthermore, the top five demands of seafood have been figured out by conducting survey among JCU students. As one supportive factor in the selection of company location, the most demanded seafood summarized from survey results can be viewed as a reference in availability of seafood supply from companies in different areas. Also, SWOT analysis is applied as well as in the aspect of risk management and local market research to ensure the business operates decently and acquire a further interpretation in business environment.

In addition, recommendations are also provided for solving the existing problems from a new perspective and serving a purpose as enhancements in company’s operating performance.
